Publication Fee Policy

1. Article Processing Charge (APC)

The Journal of Technology Innovation and Society (JTIS) charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) of $400 per accepted manuscript.

The APC applies only to manuscripts that have successfully completed the peer review process and have received formal editorial acceptance.

2. Timing of Payment

  • No submission fees are charged.

  • No review fees are charged.

  • No fast-track fees are charged.

The APC is invoiced only after the manuscript has been formally accepted by the Editor-in-Chief following peer review.

Payment of the APC has no influence on editorial decisions, which are made solely on the basis of academic merit, originality, and relevance to the journal scope.

3. Waiver and Discount Policy

JTIS is committed to equitable access to scholarly publishing.

The journal offers:

  • Full or partial APC waivers for authors from low-income countries (as defined by international economic classifications), and

  • Waivers or discounts for authors who can demonstrate genuine financial hardship.

Waiver requests must be submitted at the time of manuscript submission.

All waiver decisions are handled independently of the editorial review process. Requesting or receiving a waiver does not influence editorial decisions.

4. No Hidden Fees

JTIS operates under a fully transparent publishing model.

The stated APC covers:

  • Peer review management

  • Editorial processing

  • Copyediting and typesetting

  • Online publication and hosting

  • Long-term digital archiving

There are no additional fees for:

If a manuscript is withdrawn after acceptance but before publication, refund decisions will be considered on a case-by-case basis in accordance with journal policy.

Payments can be made via secure bank transfer or other officially approved payment methods as indicated on the invoice.

All applicable taxes, if any, will be clearly indicated on the invoice.
